Californication

I'm only 17 hours away from stepping on a plane for my Thanksgiving vacation and I've just booked another vacation! JetBlue has an amazing deal running right now - $59/one-way from JFK to San Jose, so Farid and I booked a vacation for early February! I'm sooo excited! Here's the tentative plan:

Fly in on the eve of Jan. 30th - chill and work on the 31st and 1st.
Head to Tahoe on the 2nd and ski my little heart out until the 3rd.
Head back to SF for a weekend of debauchery.

This is an open invite to anyone wanting to carve the mountain in Tahoe with me. I'm going to start researching condos. If we have a big group, it'll be cheap! Let me know if you want to join up!

You have no idea how wonderful it feels to have 3 gauranteed ski days already planned out for this season. I'm so HAPPY!!!!

Blues.

I have a new love.

The Blues...

Where drum meets bass
and Shirley Johnson croons about
cheating husbands and torrid love affairs.

Dody sips timidly from his Black Russian
while Suzanne flirts with the Italian

Couples dance and stride.
Chicago smoke fills the air
and I'm lost in the melody
...the soulful lyrics
...the rum.

Bad Blogger

Yes, I have neglected my blog for quite some time now. I could blame it on being busy or not having anything interesting to say.

Chicago and Michigan:
Suzanne, Farid, and I went out Chicago last weekend for our third and final (hopefully) RKS Conference. It went stupendously, with about 17 Kraft trainees showing up. I had an awesome time getting to know the trainees, the Northwestern participants, Kristy from Purdue, and The Ben's from Indiana. The party ROKed and a good time was had by all.

On Sunday, Chicago smelled like Chocolate. Not unlike the day that New York smelled like maple syrup. Could this be global warming? Biological warfare? That would give new meaning to the phrase, "Death by chocolate"!!!

Michigan, however, doesn't smell as sweet. But we had an awesome meeting with the leaders of AIESEC Michigan and I experience a loaf of soup at the Pizza House!

Paul's Birthday:
Happy Belated Birthday, Paulie! We celebrated in true Paul fashion with some live tunes, courtesy of Scott T, and lots and lots of hard liquor. Tomorrow night we're going to hit up the best Jamaican/Soul Food in NYC to continue the tradition of a week-long birthday celebration.

Mystery CD:
I have a phantom in my apartment. Mysteriously, Jill Scott's Beautifully Human CD appeared on my dresser in my bedroom while I was traveling this weekend. Neither of my roommates have any inkling of where it came from. That particular CD has some serious importance linked to it, so I'm trying not to draw any conclusions to it's origin, but I am both baffled and intrigued by it's sudden materialization. If my suspicions are correct then I am in awe of the lengths that it must have taken to get that CD into my possession. I'm also wondering if I should change my locks! :)

Thanksgiving Holiday:
After working the past 19 consecutive days, I am eager to away for a real vacation. The tentative plan is to drive from Portland straight to Seattle to catch Warren Miller's Higher Ground and then hitting up the freshies on Sunday. My parents have no cell phone service and no high-speed internet at their new house in Silver Lake, Washington, so I'm destined for a week of serious relaxation. Looking forward to meeting up with family and old friends.

That's all of my news for now. In need of some serious Jen and Jill time tonight since I've been traveling so much and mama is heading off to Michigan herself tomorrow. Thai food will be consumed and Lost will be watched!

LTM

Ready, set, GO!

The evening begins with an Eid Celebration at Turkuaz, followed by Mischa Barton's party in the Meatpacking district. Yes, indeed, THE Mischa Barton from the OC. David (roommate) will be so jealous.

Tomorrow, an action packed day at the Armenian Church! Oh yeah! Tomorrow night...BULGARIAN BAR!

Sunday, more meetings and then cheerleading for Jen's football game! Woohoo!!!

Pierced by your eyes
A pool of blue
circling
pausing
caught in your intentions
